Grand Masters of the Prieure de Sion

The Dossiers Secrets asserted that the Priory of Sion and the Knights Templar always shared the same Grand Master until a schism occurred during the "Cutting of the elm" incident in 1188.

"IN THE DOSSIERS secrets, the following individuals are listed as successive Grand Masters of the Prieure de Sion - or, to use the official term,
'Nautonnier', an old French word which means 'navigator' or 'helmsman':

Marie de Saint-Clair 1220-66

Guillaume de Gisors 1266-1307

Edouard de Bar 1307-36

Jean Cocteau 1918- " - The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln Pg. 114-115

"Most of the names on the list were either allied by blood to the house of Lorraine or associated with it in some other fashion"- The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln Pg. 118-119

"According to the 'Prieure documents', every Grand Master, on assuming his position, has adopted the name of Jean (John) - or, since there were four women, Jeanne (Joan). Sion's Grand Masters are therefore alleged to have comprised a continuous succession of Jeans and Jeannes, from 1188 to the present. This succession was clearly intended to imply an esoteric and Hermetic papacy based on John, in contrast (and perhaps opposition) to the exoteric one based on Peter." - The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln Pg. 140
