The Rose

An American Beauty is a hybrid perpetual rose with a hidden mean according to some that are enlightened.

Above is a excerpt from page 12 of Fundamental Laws A Report of the 68th Convocation of the Rose Cross Order by Clymer R Swinburne.

The rose, on its part, is a symbol of perfection and mystery the illumined man, 666.

"In the Western World the lotus has been changed to the rose. The roses of the Rosicrucian, the roses of the Masonic degrees, and also those of the Order of the Garter in England, all stand for the same thing, the awakening of consciousness and the unfolding into full bloom of the soul qualities of man. When man awakens and opens this bud within himself, he finds, like the gold pollen in a flower, this wonderful spiritual city, Shamballa, in the heart of the lotus.” The Initiates of the Flame Manly P. Hall pg. 32

As a symbol of secrecy

Sub Rosa, a Latin phrase translates into “under the rose” which basically means secrecy or confidentiality. The rose and its connotation of secrecy started way back in Ancient Egypt and Greek Mythology. In ancient Egypt , the rose was the Emblem for the God Horus. In Greek mythology, it was said that Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and beauty gave her son Eros (Cupid) a rose. He in turn, gave it to Harpocrates (Horus), the God of Silence to make certain that his mother's indiscretions were kept under wraps.

"The mystic rose, symbolizes Mary's mystical participation in the Holy Trinity as Heaven's Rose or Mystical Rose. The Rose you are viewing is a picture of an actual rose called Mystic Rose, developed in her honor. In medieval times the mystic rose symbol was drawn with four petals on a stain glass background or on a multi-colored background like a popular quilt pattern which is still stitched today." - http://www.catholictradition.org/Mary/marys-symbols.htm

The Rosicrucian rose on the right and the Lutheran Rose on the left  are virtually the identical.

Socialism Symbol

It derives from the red flag, which is associated with socialism. The red color, symbolizes the blood shed by workers and has always been a symbol of the worker's cause. Socialist wore red roses on dress lapels to pay tribute to the killed labor party leaders in numerous protest marches. Then it began to be used as a symbol for many European socialist parties. The British labor party's emblem is also red rose.

It is the official flower of the District of Columbia, capital of the USA. It is also the official flower of the Phi Sigma Sigma Fraternity, Sigma Phi Delta Fraternity, Tau Beta Sigma Sorority, and Beta Beta Beta (a coed academic fraternity for biology majors).

  1. Red, or crimson even, symbolize bloodshed and rebellion. Green means life, black means death. White is purity and purple royalty. Just a few snippets for any who may care. Jesus LIVES!!!!!
