Vatican Observatory is a member of the Mount Graham International Observatory (MGIO). The Vatican observatory, that is housed at the Mt. Graham facility in the University of Arizona.

Lucifer is part of the Large Binocular Telescope, which happens to be right next to the Vatican Observatory on Mt. Graham in Tucson. Lucifer, which stands for, "Large Binocular Telescope Near-infrared Utility with Camera and Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research," is a chilled instrument attached to the Large Binocular Telescope.

So the Vatican has an observatory in Arizona, that is next to "Lucifer" which is NOT part of the Vatican Observatory as others have claimed.
