The Jesuit Order is also known as Society of Jesus.

Ignatius Loyola and six followers in 1539, they formed the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), approved in 1540 by Pope Paul III, as well as his Spiritual Exercises approved in 1548. Loyola also composed the Constitutions of the Society and on 19 April 1541, he became its first Superior General.

Ignatius Loyola, while studying at Salamanca (1527) was brought before an ecclesiastical commission on a charge of sympathy with the alumbrados, but escaped with an admonition.

Adam Weishaupt founder of "The Order of Perfectibilists (Perfektibilisten)" but became famous as the "Ordo Illuminati Bavarensis", or the Bavarian Illuminati was Jesuit taught and reared. He graduated from the Jesuit Universty of Ingolstadt in 1768. In 1772 he was also made a professor of Cannon Law at Universty of Ingolstadt a position held exlusely by Jesuits at that time.
